Are you a skilled belt splicer with hands-on experience in conveyor systems? We are on the lookout for a dedicated professional to join our high-performing crew at our brand new site in Wacol, QLD.The full time position will complete workshop orders and provide on-site installation service using various splicing techniques on a vast range of belting materials. After hours and weekend work available when required.

Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Assembly :
- Manage onboarding of new team members, training and performance management.
- Prepare belt (mark, measure, cut, fasten, join) as per client requirements.
- Perform mechanical splicing, hot vulcanizing, cold bonding, and other specialist techniques.
- Operate and maintain fabrication and splicing equipment/machinery to complete assigned work.
- Undertake onsite installation, repair and maintenance of conveyor belts at customer sites.
- Interpret and execute work orders with accuracy and timeliness.
- Adhere to occupational health, safety and environmental requirements and support the HSE Officer to achieve a safety culture of zero harm.
- Maintain clean housekeeping or work areas.
- Adhere to standard operational procedures.
Continuous Improvement:
· Engage in operational excellence initiatives, incorporating Lean methodologies such Kaizen and 5S.
· Engage in regular reviews of mechanical and procedural limitations to recommend innovative solutions.
· Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within teams.
Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in belt spicing, vulcanizing or related trade
- Mechanical aptitude with proven ability to use hand tools and equipment.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and work orders.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Demonstratable skills in the analysis of fabrication equipment for faults.
- Time management skills.
- Professional work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Forklift licence is the primary certification required for this position.
Qualifications / Experience
- Trade qualifications in mechanical, fitting or related fields.
- HR background and/or supervisory experience.
- Minimum 3+ Years experience in relevant trade in lieu of formal qualifications.
