Compliance AML/CTF Officer (Hybrid)

Makinson d'Apice is a progressive law firm built on it's 170 year history of excellence for incredible clients by exceptional lawyers. As a mid-sized firm (200 staff and growing) with a boutique feel, we are large enough to provide diversity of clients and challenging work, yet small enough to help grow your career.

Due to growth, we seeking to hire an experienced AML/CTF Analyst to establish our compliance function.Reporting into our Chief Financial Officer, this is a stand alone position and as such we are looking for someone who wants to make this role their own.
This role requires you to be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the designated AML Compliance Officer under the firm's AML/CTF Program
  • Lead AUSTRAC reporting and other regulatory reporting obligations
  • Oversee audits, due diligence process and regulatory examinations
  • Lead training initiatives for AML/CTF and compliance across the business
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments
  • Provide regular, formal reporting to the Board
  • Maintain accurate records and develop and enhance compliance policies, framework and control procedures

Skills & Experience

  • 5 years plus experience within compliance in either a bank, law firm, professional services, government or regulator
  • Law degree, Actuarial or Commerce Degree
  • Experience gained in New Zealand and/or the UK will also be considered
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in AML/CTF and Governance essential. Modern Slavery an added bonus but not essential.
  • Will consider part time applicants
