About the role:

As the Senior Compliance Manager, AML & CTF at Tyro you will be responsible for providing dedicated business facing second line compliance support to Tyro's business units.

What you'll do:
  • Oversee, coordinate and implement key compliance programs, including regulatory obligations management and AML/CTF activities.

  • Manage SMR (Suspicious Matter Report) oversight and quality assurance, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to AUSTRAC.

  • Support the design, testing, refinement and implementation of transaction monitoring rules to ensure effective detection and escalation of suspicious activity.

  • Contribute to periodic AML/CTF program reviews, risk assessments, and internal or external audits.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on customer due diligence, enhanced customer reviews, and sanctions screening processes.

  • Identify and analyse the impact of new/proposed/amended laws, regulations and industry codes for Tyro and recommend action plans to ensure compliance and oversee business unit implementation efforts.

  • Contribute to compliance reporting to the Tyro Board, Board Committees and senior management.

  • Enable Tyro to deliver its strategic projects by representing compliance and providing business relevant, commercially-focussed and timely compliance advice.

What you'll bring:
  • At least five years' experience in a risk, compliance, or audit role, ideally

  • within a technology-driven organisation or a finance/payments environment.

  • At least three years' experience within a compliance function, with a specialisation in AML/CTF compliance.

  • Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the AML/CTF Act, associated Rules, reforms, and relevant regulatory expectations.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.

  • Excellent reporting and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in a changing environment.
