Role

Join our team as a College Services Adviser and be at the forefront of supporting students in both academic and non-academic areas. As the primary point of contact for students within the College, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring their success and satisfaction throughout their academic journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with their unit choices, career counselling and ensuring a smooth study journey
  • Assist in enrolment processes in liaison with the Admissions and Enrolments Team
  • Direct students to appropriate support services, or provide pastoral support as needed
  • Assist in timetabling as needed
  • Monitor the academic progress and attendance of students
  • Coordinate and run activities and events to enhance the student experience, including but not limited to orientation and social activities
  • Ensure smooth integration of different student services tasks leading to better student experience and business outcomes
  • Monitor the College inboxes and other avenues of enquiry and respond to stakeholder queries
  • Assist students with course choices, and subject selection at College and University as required
  • Collect and disseminate information to students, e.g. study skills, presentations, websites, university deadlines
  • Liaise with the tertiary sector, relevant faculties and administrative units of the University as required
  • Assist students with entry requirements and applications into alternate pathways e.g. other College or University programs to aid retention
  • Liaise with Admissions and Enrolments on post-admission enrolment processes
  • Inform all Under 18 students on arrival of College policies and procedures in place for underage students
  • Liaise with accommodation providers to maintain welfare and compliance with Under 18 rules

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Education system (essential)
  • An empathetic and caring personality
  • Ability to develop good relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, planning and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Adaptable to the changing work environment
  • Advanced skills in the use of computerised information systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours if required
  • Valid State Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Direct knowledge or experience of the international education sector (desirable)
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of key legislation, policies and procedures relevant to international students (desirable)
