About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at the Inner Light Tea Rooms in the beautiful coastal town of Nelson Bay, NSW. This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, fresh meals for our customers in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for cooking and delivering exceptional customer service, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing a variety of menu items to our high standards
  2. Ensuring all food is presented attractively and in a timely manner
  3. Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
  4. Adherring to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  5. Assisting with menu development and item costing
  6. Providing excellent customer service to guests
  7. Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  2. Experience in cafe and light meals cuisine is required
  3. Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation and food safety standards
  4. Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  5. Creative flair and a passion for creating delicious, high-quality dishes
  6. Ability to work well in a team and excellent communication skills.
  7. Australian work authorisation is required for this position
