Make a difference as a Risk Advisory Specialist
Your Role
Step into a role where your insights truly make an impact. As a Risk Advisory Specialist, you'll play a key role in our Line 2 Risk team, partnering closely with the Manager, Risk Advisory to provide strategic risk oversight and insights across the Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) division, including brands such as CGU and WFI.
Through understanding the business, you will dive deep into end-to-end operational processes identifying elevated areas of risk, evaluate the adequacy of the control environment and provide meaningful commercial risk advice and insights. Your independent assessments will shape a clear view of the business and material process risk profiles, empowering leaders to make confident, risk-informed decisions that drive strategic success.
You will have demonstrated business and risk acumen, and strong communication skills providing constructive challenge and enterprise-wide thinking. You'll connect the dots across the Group, ensuring every risk conversation is grounded in the bigger picture.
This is a permanent opportunity with the flexibility to be based in either Gadical Country (Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).
Make sure to discuss all internal applications with your current manager before applying.
About You
• You bring hands-on experience in audit, assurance, or risk at the process level - ideally within Insurance or Financial Services - and know how to spot what others might miss.
Skilled in assessing process-level controls, whether independently or as part of a team, and translating your findings into clear, impactful insights - both written and verbal.
• A natural communicator, you're confident engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, building trust and influence at every level.
• You think beyond silos, demonstrating enterprise-wide thinking and understanding how your work connects across the broader value chain.
• You thrive in collaboration, building strong partnerships and working seamlessly with others to achieve shared goals.
• You have a solid grasp of the Australian regulatory landscape, along with a strong foundation in governance and risk management principles.
• You hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualifications, backed by real-world business experience that enables you to operate at a fully competent level.
Applications close Sunday 16th August 2025 at 23:59pm AEST.
Joining IAG you'll have access to a raft of benefits from across the Group:
