Make a difference as a Regulatory Response Specialist
NRMA Insurance has been helping Australians with their general insurance and actively supporting communities for 100 years. Part of Insurance Australia Group (known as IAG), we're proud to be one of Australia's most iconic brands.
Your Role
We're establishing a dedicated Regulatory Response function within Retail Insurance Australia (RIA) — and we're looking for three Specialists to help shape how it operates.
As a Regulatory Response Specialist, you'll support the delivery of high-quality, timely responses to regulatory notices, audits and inquiries from ASIC, APRA and other bodies. You'll work closely with the Regulatory Response Manager and collaborate across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Data and business units to help shape clear, consistent narratives to regulators.
This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to drafting responses, validating data, monitoring commitments, and embedding governance processes. You'll also help prepare the business for future regulatory focus areas — supporting assurance activities and strengthening controls.
If you're organised, analytical, and passionate about regulatory integrity, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact in a newly formed team within a critical part of the business.
This is a full-time, permanent position open to applicants across Australia, with a preference for those based in Gadigal Country (Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne), Meanjin (Brisbane) or Tarndanya (Adelaide).
About You
You're someone who thrives in detail, communicates clearly, and enjoys working across teams to solve complex problems. You bring experience in regulatory response, compliance, risk, or governance — and you understand the importance of getting the narrative right.
You're confident writing sections of regulatory responses that are clear, credible and consistent. You know how to shape messaging that aligns with broader regulatory themes and can stand up to scrutiny. Whether you've worked in financial services, insurance, or a related field, you understand the regulatory landscape and how to navigate it with care and precision.
You'll bring:
- Experience in regulatory response, project coordination, legal, compliance or risk roles
- Strong writing skills — you can draft and refine regulatory responses with clarity and confidence
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and obligations (ASIC, APRA, AFCA, CGC, SIRA)
- Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and governance processes
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and respond to change
- Relevant industry or specialist qualifications
You're also ready to help shape a new team — bringing your skills, insights and energy to a function that's critical to IAG's regulatory engagement.
Applications close Monday, 10 November 2025, 23:59pm AEDT.
Joining IAG you'll have access to a raft of benefits from across the Group:
- Boosted superannuation with 13% as standard
- Up to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor insurance
- 5 myLeave days per year on top of annual leave
- Work from home and many more flexibility options with myFlex
- Industry-leading 20 weeks paid parental leave, available from the day you start, for both primary and secondary carers
- A certified Family Inclusive WorkplaceTM
- Great employee network communities
- Award-winning recognition and reward program*employment type eligibility criteria apply
