A large Victorian Government agency is seeking a Senior Security Architect to lead the development and delivery of information and cyber security architecture. This role provides strategic expertise to support the organisation's cyber security strategy, annual improvement program, and the secure design of business-led technology projects.

THE ROLE

The Security Architect will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise cyber security architecture across networks, hosting, cloud, applications, and end-user environments.
  • Support the design and transition of cyber security services, ensuring compliance with standards for change, release, and configuration management.
  • Identify and address security risks and issues, and recommend design improvements to strengthen security maturity.
  • Provide specialist advice and contribute to planning, policy, and project decisions to align with government security frameworks and standards.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote consistent, collaborative security practices.
  • Maintain a security roadmap informed by emerging threats and technology trends.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant governance, financial, and procurement policies.

  • Model high standards of security architecture and stakeholder engagement.
  • Mentor and support team members to build cyber security knowledge and capability.
  • Encourage collaboration and continuous improvement across teams.

ABOUT YOU

  • Postgraduate qualifications or relevant industry certifications with extensive IT security experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT security experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and controls (CIS, NIST, ISM, ACSC Essential 8).
  • Demonstrated experience in Data Loss Prevention, Vulnerability Management, SIEM, Identity Management, and Network Security.
  • Experience in secure cloud design, especially Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 security tools.
  • Minimum 3 years of cloud security architecture experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check required.
