About the role
Newpave is seeking an experienced Asphalt Operator to join our team in Tomago, NSW. This full-time role will involve operating specialised machinery to lay and compact asphalt for various construction projects.
What you'll be doing
- Operate asphalt pavers, rollers, and other specialised equipment to lay and compact asphalt to specifications
- Ensure the quality and safety of the asphalt work by monitoring compaction levels, temperature, and other key factors
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the equipment to keep it in good working order
- Collaborate with the wider construction team to coordinate the asphalt work with other project activities
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the worksite
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 years' experience as an Asphalt Operator or similar role in the construction industry
- Proficient in operating asphalt pavers, rollers, and other specialised equipment (This is not pre-requisite, training to upskill will occur on the job)
- Keen to learn and understand asphalt laying and compaction techniques and quality control measures
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Any Relevant licenses and certifications will be advantageous (e.g. forklift, heavy vehicle)
