About the role

Newpave is seeking an experienced Asphalt Operator to join our team in Tomago, NSW. This full-time role will involve operating specialised machinery to lay and compact asphalt for various construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  1. Operate asphalt pavers, rollers, and other specialised equipment to lay and compact asphalt to specifications
  2. Ensure the quality and safety of the asphalt work by monitoring compaction levels, temperature, and other key factors
  3. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the equipment to keep it in good working order
  4. Collaborate with the wider construction team to coordinate the asphalt work with other project activities
  5. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the worksite

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 1 years' experience as an Asphalt Operator or similar role in the construction industry
  2. Proficient in operating asphalt pavers, rollers, and other specialised equipment (This is not pre-requisite, training to upskill will occur on the job)
  3. Keen to learn and understand asphalt laying and compaction techniques and quality control measures
  4. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
  5. Effective communication and teamwork skills
  6. Any Relevant licenses and certifications will be advantageous (e.g. forklift, heavy vehicle)
