About The Role
In this role you will:
- Operate front deck mowers (ride on mowers) in a safe and efficient manner to contribute to the maintenance of Townsville's Parks and Open Spaces
- Some gardening, mulching, brush cutting and litter pickup may be required within the Parks Team
- Demonstrated experience in the area of gardening and mowing activities is required
- Safe operation of plant, equipment and hand tools is required
- Perform minor maintenance on your plant and equipment (for example blade changes, clean screens and filters, fluid checks, pre-start activities)
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Current manual "C" class driver licence (essential)
- Knowledge of, or ability to obtain knowledge of road signage and traffic control requirements as associated with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (Part
- Ability to safely operate a range of light plant, machinery and equipment associated with maintenance and construction projects within a rural and urban environment
- Ability to operate computerised equipment (e.g. mobile phone, phone applications, data loggers, GPS, etc.)
- Sound problem solving skills with the ability to achieve creative, effective and efficient solutions to challenges and changes
- Effective time and workload management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to obtain team objectives
