About The Opportunity
The Nurse Manager Patient Flow is responsible for ensuring seamless patient flow management within the facility through the coordination and facilitation of patient flow strategies to improve the delivery and timeliness of access to care.
This role will ensure optimal patient outcomes by promoting best practice through facility capacity / demand management processes. You will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating patient flow strategies to improve the delivery and timeliness of access to care. As part of the Nursing and Midwifery leadership you will bring vision and clarity to your role, be a great communicator, self-directed, with an ability to inspire, motivate and support people to reach their full potential.

The role will provide guidance and support to ensure that there is a focus on service development and appropriate oversight of practices, trends, and indicators. Ongoing assessment and improvement in operational processes and clinical outcomes is an inherent responsibility of this position. The Patient Flow Manager is to foster and maintain close professional relationships with relevant executive teams, clinical managers, peers, and district managers to achieve organisational goals.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
- Provide leadership as a resource person and role model in the clinical setting and in professional relationships, and work with operational, corporate and clinical leaders to establish, progress and evaluate systems pertaining to performance, access, and flow. Support facility-based teams to ensure consistency of processes, performance indicators, performance management, and reporting.
- Effectively communicate in a person-centred manner and establish and promote collaborative relationships with facility-based teams, District and Hospital Executives and Departmental Managers to ensure relevant performance indicators including the Emergency Treatment Performance (ETP), Transfer of Care (TOC) and Triage category KPI's are understood, monitored and improved (where required).
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
