Position Description
At DANS In Home Care, the Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in driving the quality and efficiency of in-home care services across both disability and aged care sectors.
This role ensures all services not only meet but exceed compliance standards, including the NDIS Practice Standards, Aged Care Strengthened Quality Standards, SCHADS Award, Fair Work requirements, and WHS obligations.
The Operations Manager designs and embeds systems that deliver consistent, cost-effective, and compliant care. They lead audits, risk assessments, and service reviews with a focus on continuous learning, innovation, and excellence - turning feedback and complaints into opportunities for growth.
They build genuine, respectful relationships with community partners, represent the organisation with integrity, and actively seek ways to expand services and enhance community impact.

Key Accountabilities
Operational Management
- Collation of data to assist senior management and the Governing Body in line with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Liaise and support the rostering team in the day-to-day decision-making regarding roster adjustments
- Participate and contribute to the planning processes, policy and procedure formulation.
Strategy
- Lead service development projects.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity and continuous improvement.
- Analyse service trends and propose operational enhancements for improvement.
- Identify service growth opportunities and contribute to strategic planning
Management of Team
- Advise and assist HR on workforce requirements and planning.
- Set the educational and mandatory training requirements for staff.
- Educate, mentor and support staff to deliver a high level of quality care.
- Set clear performance objectives and goals for the care team.
- Report on the clear deliverables to the leadership team at committee meetings.
Business, Finance & Reporting
- Oversee budgets, resourcing, and service viability.
- Report operational outcomes and risks to the management team..
- Make sure all service delivery has been performed according to the company standard.
Risk Management & Safeguarding
- Ensure client safety and wellbeing by embedding safeguarding practices.
- Lead reportable incident investigations, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and report compliance breaches to relevant authorities.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex client needs, complaints and service redesign.
- Handle operational crises and develop risk management strategies.
Selection Criteria
- Ideally, we're looking for previous experience in aged or community care, but if you have extensive experience in Social Services, Management or Human Services and have worked within a similar role, we'd love to hear from you, too.
- People management experience. Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, delegate and negotiate with others to deliver quality care
- Be accountable to budgets and drive key efficiencies
- Ability organise workload and work within an allocated time frame
- Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality
- Sensitivity for all cultures, religions and sexual orientation
