ABOUT THE ROLE

The School Programs & Deployment Lead is responsible for leading AFL Victoria's school programming and workforce including the Training & Education of staff.

Focusing on the operational delivery of programs in Primary Schools such as Promotional Programming, Sporting Schools Program and School Sport Victoria, the role will aim to lead and oversee the offerings, process and communications across the state in support of the regional teams. In addition to this, the role will oversee the recruitment, onboarding and training & education of AFL Victoria's large workforce to ensure consistent and high-quality programming is delivered across the state.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the implementation of the AFL's school's strategy in Victoria – including preschool, primary, secondary and tertiary education institutions.
  • Implement a state communication process for all Schools in Victoria.
  • Be the AFL Victoria's representative for the Sporting Schools program including local delivery coordination.
  • Support School Sport Victoria in the delivery of school competitions across Primary Schools, including managing the relationship with the region coordinators.
  • Provide Professional Development opportunities for Primary and Secondary teachers to empower them to deliver AFL Schools programs.
  • Oversee the AFL's CRM system Salesforce for schools, Deputy for casual workforce rostering & payroll and Workforce Intranet for recruitment and onboarding. A focus on user management, data integrity, reporting and insights.
  • Support the recruitment of casual workforce across Victoria from beginning to end of the recruitment process.
  • Manage the onboarding and training process for new staff, including but not limited to, team apparel, equipment and access to online resources.
  • Deliver training and education sessions to all staff to ensure quality programming is being delivered across Victoria.
  • Work closely with the National team to support the development and design of training modules and programming resources for AFL Staff.
  • Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role.
  • Support and contribute to the success of the broader team

Mandatory

  • 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge, experience and understanding of operational delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with recruitment and onboarding of staff
  • Have worked with or have a good understanding of rostering and deployment of staff
  • Experience in training and education practices
  • Worked with a variety of systems

Desirable

  • Sound understanding of AFL and Community football
  • An understanding of the primary school landscape
  • Current full VIT accreditation
  • Tertiary qualifications in Teaching/Education or Physical Education Specialist.
