About the role

As a Terminal/Production Operator with Puma Energy (Australia) Bitumen Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in the efficient and safe operation of our bitumen terminal in Townsville, Queensland. This is a full-time position that will see you responsible for overseeing all aspects of the terminal's operations, from product loading and unloading to quality control and environmental compliance.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely loading and unloading bitumen products from trucks and ships

  • Monitoring and maintaining terminal equipment, including pumps, tanks and pipelines

  • Conducting quality checks on products and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations

  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to terminal operations

  • Responding to and resolving any operational issues or emergencies that may arise

  • Collaborating with the broader team to optimise terminal efficiency and productivity

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar terminal or production operator role, ideally within the oil and gas industry

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with terminal equipment and systems

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues

  • Commitment to workplace health and safety, with the ability to follow established procedures

  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality and compliance

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues
