Simmonds Laser and Tube Cutting is a growing laser cutting and pressing business located in Wangara.  We deliver custom products and services to a variety of industries.

We are looking for an enthusiastic reliable individual to join our friendly team as aa lead estimator/programmer

This full-time role is ideal for someone with strong estimating experience and a solid understanding of steel and manufacturing processes.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience previous or willing to learn in laser cutting including-

  • Lead a team of estimators and programmers
  • Reviewing 2D and 3D drawings for quoting and manufacturing
  • Estimating and programming as required
  • Check the estimating teams quotes for accuracy
  • Estimating time and calculating materials required for different projects
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers to clarify requirements to provide accurate quotes in a professional manner
  • Supporting internal teams with technical expertise
  • Estimating using specialised software with training provided including Sigmanest and Cypnest.
  • Proactively identify issues and areas of improvement required and develop methods to rectify with management support if needed
  • Must have knowledge of Autocad and Microsoft applications
  • Experience in Sheetmetal design/drafting preferred but not essential
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in leading a team and ability to work with the team.
  • Experience with 3D design packages, preferably Solidworks, not essential.
