**About the Role**

Our reputation has seen the business experience considerable growth, and we are looking for a highly experienced Surveying Technician to join our team. As a Surveying Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects are executed accurately and efficiently. Your expertise in measurement, mapping, and compliance helps to minimise errors and optimise the use of resources.
- This role is based at MGC Headquarters & On-site
- Full Time, Permanent
- $80,000 - 90,000pa + Super

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Interpret plans, coordinate work programs
- Prepare, edit and revise plan according with regulations and codes of practice
- Assisting Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors in planning and organization
- Inspecting work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards
- Calculating costs and estimating time scales
- Collecting data using surveying instruments and photogrammetric equipment
- Performing routine computations and plotting preliminary data
- Direct and conduct surveys in order to establish site boundaries of project sites based on the Certificates of Title or other legal or construction issued documentation.
- Undertake and record the location of infrastructure and services.
- Verify accuracy and assemble survey data of measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of the project site and its features.
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify and assume liability of work.
- Plan and conduct site set outs for construction work to be undertaken by MGC Civil.
- Ensure that all survey pegs are located without error and replace as required.
- Supervise and direct staff as required (i.e. survey assistants).
- Liaison with government departments or agencies as required.
- Be aware of, and abide by, all MGC Civil and MGC Siteworks Site Safety and Environmental Rules & Regulations

**About You**
- Ability to read and interpret field data, reports, site plans, specifications and working drawings.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications and all other project and engineering documentation.
- Ability to make sketch engineering sketches, maps and drawings.
- Leadership skills and the ability to direct survey assistants in conducting their activities.

**Qualifications**
- Qualification in surveying (preferably from a Tertiary institution).
- Minimum of 4 years’ proven experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of land surveying.
- Senior First Aid - Desirable
- Class C Driving Licence
