Careers & Candidates is exclusively recruiting for the role of Financial Reporting Manager.

The role will is a contract position, for 18 months, which may have the possibility of permanency post the interim engagement.

The company is headquartered in the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and has operations in numerous countries. With a strong track record of growth and innovation, the company operates across the retail and FMCG sectors.

WFH flexibility is attractive, with two days in the office and three at home.

Under the guidance of the Financial Controller, and as part of a broader accounting function, you will be given a range of responsibilities for the Australian and broader global businesses. The role shall entail preparation of the profit & loss statements, balance sheets, meet tax reporting requirements for both direct and indirect taxes and ensuring internal and external audit requirements are fulfilled. The consolidation of accounts is pretty straight forward and not technical. The audit and tax accounting firms will assist you and you will likely manage these relationships. Your team shall work with the FP&A team, around variances and will be expected to have some understanding of commercial and reporting drivers.

Lease accounting under IFRS 16 is a key element of the role and o
ur client is looking for experience in and a strong understanding of it
.

A team of 5 Accountants report into this role.

As afore mentioned, you will have strong knowledge of IFRS 16 and have developed a strong technical accounting skillset. You may have worked for a medium to large corporate and / or chartered firm. Ideally, you have managed a team, but this may also be a step up for you in staff responsibility. CA / CPA qualifications required.
