We are a boutique accounting firm committed to delivering personalized and professional services to our clients.

Role Overview:

The Part-Time Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the firm, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks. You will also manage and review the work completed by our bookkeeping team, ensuring high standards and compliance with industry practices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing internal Xero file
  • Accounts Receivable (in collaboration with the Office Manager) and Accounts Payable
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Processing journals as required
  • Assisting with internal year-end accounts preparation
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management reports
  • Contributing to the creation of the yearly budget and cash flow forecasts
  • Preparation of monthly BAS (Business Activity Statement) and PAYG (Pay As You Go) tax returns
  • Calculating and processing weekly payroll, including Superannuation and Payroll Tax calculations
  • Assisting with the preparation of the yearly FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) return
  • Supporting the yearly insurance review and WorkCover reconciliation
  • Providing internal Xero assistance and resolving client bookkeeping queries
  • Assisting with onboarding new clients and managing subscriptions
  • Assisting with ad hoc tasks as required

We currently have over 20 clients we provide bookkeeping services for and are looking at growing. You will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Manage and review bookkeeping team
  • Overseeing bookkeeping tasks, including providing necessary information and maintaining communication between the team, clients, and responsible accountants
  • Reviewing work and ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Performing some direct client bookkeeping and providing administrative assistance
  • Support for client-related queries
  • Preparing monthly PAYG and quarterly BAS for clients
  • Assisting with ad hoc tasks as required

What we are looking for:

· yearsProven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a professional services or accounting firm environment.

· Extensive experience with Xero and other relevant software

· Ability to work independently and manage priorities

· Excellent communication skills

· High attention to detail and accuracy

· Must have permanent right to work in Australia

The role will be based in Melbourne and the salary on offer will vary depending on experience. The initial part time role could develop into a full time role if desirable to both parties.
