The
Principal Mitek Designer
plays a pivotal role in shaping OFFSITE's MiTek environment and enabling the performance, quality and scalability of the MiTek Sub-Team. This role combines deep technical expertise in truss and structural detailing with a mentoring mindset and a strong grasp of engineering logic – ensuring that all outputs support OFFSITE's DfMA principles, sequencing logic, and structural compliance.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • 7+ years Timber frame and truss detailing OR
  • Diploma Level or Higher National Certificate Qualified (Architectural, Structural Engineering or Engineered Timber Technician or related) OR
  • 7+ years as a qualified carpenter in residential timber frame construction
  • Expert level proficiency in MiTek
  • Deep understanding of prefabricated timber construction systems
  • Ability to model and coordinate highly detailed, manufacturable outputs across multiple disciplines
  • Proven experience leading the development documentation, and enforcement of internal design and standards and workflows
  • Familiarity with National Construction Code (NCC), relevant Australian Standards, and manufacturing tolerances for panelised construction
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with clear and confident communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
