About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Workday Payroll Implementation Specialist to join our team and play a key role in the implementation and ongoing optimisation of Workday Payroll for Australia. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across our national workforce.
You will work closely with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to configure, test, and manage payroll processes within Workday, including award interpretation, leave management, and reporting. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a transformative technology project and shape the future of payroll operations at Maddocks.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, further key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the configuration and deployment of Workday Payroll modules, including integration with HCM and Finance systems.
- Support complex payroll scenarios such as long service leave, parental leave, higher duties allowances, and multi-state payroll tax calculations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure payroll data accuracy and alignment with organisational policies.
- Develop and maintain payroll reports for audit, reconciliation, and compliance purposes.
- Provide training and support to P&C and Finance teams on Workday Payroll functionality.
- Assist with data migration and historical payroll data access strategies.
Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience with implementation of Workday Payroll in an Australian context is required.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Fair Work compliance, and award interpretation.
- Experience with payroll reporting, reconciliation, and audit processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively across HR, Finance, and IT teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in a law firm or partnership model is desirable.
