About the role

Solve Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team in Wollongong, NSW. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering and supporting individuals with disabilities to live independently and participate actively in their communities. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised care and assistance to clients with a range of disabilities, including physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities
  • Helping clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Facilitating and supporting clients' participation in recreational, social, and community activities
  • Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to client care
  • Collaborating with the broader care team to develop and implement individualised support plans

What we're looking for

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar role, preferably in the disability support or aged care sectors
  • A demonstrated understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients and their families
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the independence and inclusion of individuals with disabilities
  • A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
  • A current First Aid certificate and NDISSC.
