About Us
Allcare is one of the leading in-home aged care service providers in the Illawarra. We are passionate about providing cost effective, innovative, flexible and high quality services to our clients, allowing them to live independently in their own home and surroundings. We promote social engagement and health and wellbeing, focussing on all aspects of an individual to help them live their best lives.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking dependable Community Support Workers (In-home Aged Carer) to join our team for a range of regular shifts, which may include mornings (6:30am to 2:30pm), afternoons (2:00pm to 8:00pm), and weekends. It is particularly well suited to someone living in the northern Illawarra region, including Wollongong and surrounding suburbs. Whenever possible, we allocate shifts close to where our workers are based and place strong emphasis on consistency, ensuring both our team and the people we support benefit from a high standard of care.
We understand that everyone has commitments outside of work and we are happy to accommodate these; however, we expect workers to be upfront and honest about their true availability. This allows us to roster effectively, providing you with a steady schedule while ensuring consistent, high-quality support for our clients.
Many of our clients come from diverse backgrounds, so the ability to speak another language, particularly Macedonian or Greek, would be highly regarded but not necessary.
The role involves:
- personal care such as grooming, bathing, dressing and toileting as appropriate to the client's capacity;
- medication support and assistance such as medication reminders, support with Webster packs or insulin and blood pressure checks (with relevant training);
- community support such as assistance with daily community interactions and appointments, assistance with grocery shopping, attending outdoor activities and meeting up with social groups;
- transportation such as taking clients to medical or personal appointments, collection or drop off at services or shopping; and
- household assistance such as meal preparation, cooking of meals and general help around the home.
Unlike other providers, allcare team members are not required to do large blocks of cleaning, as we provide separate professional cleaning services to our clients. We also cover all travel time between clients as well as the reimbursement of kilometres travelled.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- previous experience in a similar role;
- a great attitude with a genuine interest in helping others and a can do attitude;
- an understanding of the care needs of older people and a commitment to providing quality care;
- the ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment;
- reliability and a commitment to keeping your availability up to date;
- a valid driver's licence and access to a fully insured vehicle;
- a mobile phone with Internet access;
- willingness to undertake a National Police Check History check;
- valid working rights in Australia; and
- a minimum of two (but preferably three) COVID-19 vaccination doses and willingness to obtain the annual Influenza vaccination each year.
Our team members enjoy:
- working in a supportive environment in a position that offers variety and makes a difference to someone's life;
- access to company benefits and wellness programs such as our discount benefits app, discounted Savvy Fitness Membership, social events and rewards;
- access to learning and development opportunities;
- Refer a Friend (employee referral) scheme; and
- paid travel time between clients, and reimbursement of travel kilometres.
allcare is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion. We strive to create an equal employment environment where everyone from any background can be themselves.
