Batch Mewing Lawyers is an award-winning law practice specialising in construction, employment, dispute resolution and commercial law in Brisbane's CBD.

With a team of 30 legal professionals, including 7 principals, the firm continues to grow and expand its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

The firm is in a growth phase, presenting an opportunity for a motivated law graduate to join our Brisbane-based construction and major projects team. This full-time role offers the chance to work directly with senior lawyers and principals, with competitive remuneration and strong career development opportunities in a high-performing team environment.

About the Role

  • Drafting and advising on construction contracts.
  • Assisting with litigated construction claims.
  • Helping to run and defend claims and actions under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017 (Qld).
  • Drafting pleadings and affidavits for litigated construction claims, as well as briefing technical construction industry experts.

You will also regularly conduct legal research and assist with Business Development – including drafting articles and assisting with webinars and training.

You will need to have good written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and commerciality. You will be a team player who operates well in an open and collaborative environment.
