About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join FS Custom Builds PTY LTD as a CARPENTRY FIRST YEAR or SECOND YEAR APPRENTICE in Adelaide, SA 5000. As a full-time position, you will be undertaking an apprenticeship to become a qualified carpenter, learning from experienced professionals and gaining hands-on experience in the field of carpentry.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting experienced carpenters with a variety of carpentry tasks, such as constructing timber frames for new homes, cladding, decks and pergolas.
  • Learning how to read and interpret, plans and drawings.
  • Gaining experience in the use of power tools and hand tools common to the carpentry trade
  • Developing skills in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood to specification
  • Learning how to install windows, doors, and other fixtures
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
  • Completing on-the-job training and attending vocational classes to obtain your carpentry qualification

  • A passion for the trades and a desire to learn the carpentry craft
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Good manual dexterity and the physical capability to perform the tasks required
  • A keen interest in working with your hands and a commitment to developing your skills
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the willingness to learn
  • Must have a drivers license
  • Must be an Australian citizen
