UGL's New Energy national business unit is experiencing rapid growth, and we need motivated and capable people to join our team. UGL's in-house engineering and design capability, together with our strong project delivery and operations and maintenance expertise puts us in a strong position in the market. Our target project opportunities include Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Wind Projects, as well as Hydrogen and Ammonia projects.

The UGL New Energy Team is seeking an experienced Project Engineer- Civil to work on our upcoming [Battery Energy Storage System] BESS Project in Western Australia (WA).

This position is site-based FIFO/DIDO in Western Australia

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is responsible for focusing on projects with earthworks, in-ground services and civil structures. The primary challenge of this position is to ensure the project is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet contractual arrangements made with the client

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and conducting professional engineering work without direct supervision
  • Consult, recommend, and advise on specialist engineering areas
  • Supervise and coordinate multi-disciplined design activities
  • Control and manage technical interfaces between disciplines, with equipment suppliers and subcontractors
  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts and the constructability of projects

Your skills and experience:

  • Tertiary Engineering Qualifications in Civil / Structural or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in Civil / Structural Engineering of energy/utilities projects.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written), including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
