Objective: To identify and recommend strategic growth areas for Yoga Therapy within AUSactive, considering its diverse membership base of professionals and businesses.

Key Deliverables

Landscape Analysis

  • Assess current Yoga Therapy activities within the association.
  • Benchmark against other leading associations and industry trends.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in education, visibility, and engagement.

Education Pathways

  • Map existing educational offerings from foundation to advanced levels.
  • Recommend enhancements or new programs to support career progression.
  • Explore partnerships with educational institutions or certifying bodies.

Celebration & Recognition

  • Propose initiatives to celebrate Yoga Therapists (e.g., awards, spotlights, case studies).
  • Develop a framework for showcasing member achievements and impact stories.

Segmented Communications Strategy

  • Analyse current communication channels and audiences.
  • As AUSactive membership caters for a broad spectrum of qualified professionals in the exercise and active health industry, recommended segmentation strategies for professionals, businesses, and students.
  • Suggest tailored messaging and content formats for each group.

Growth Opportunities

  • Identify potential new member segments or service areas.
  • Explore business development opportunities (e.g., corporate wellness, healthcare integration).
  • Recommend advocacy or public awareness campaigns to elevate Yoga Therapy. For example, Yoga Therapy members have been working with AUSactive to reinstate their modality as a recognised service under the NDIS. Achieving this will require close engagement with the relevant government committee to identify the evidence needed to demonstrate the efficacy of Yoga Therapy. The Consultant will also need to liaise with Yoga Therapists to collate and present this evidence. In parallel, a targeted advocacy effort, including correspondence with parliamentarians, will be essential to strengthen the case for reinstatement.

Monthly activity (but not limited to):

1: Stakeholder interviews, initial landscape analysis

2: Education review, communications audit, draft recommendations

3: Final report, presentation to leadership, implementation roadmap

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Check-ins with association leadership.
  • Final report with actionable recommendations Feb 2026.
  • Presentation to AUSactive senior management by Feb-March 2026.
