About the Role

Work with the kitchen staff for the purpose of producing high quality meals.  To practice and teach portion control, quality control, waste control and product preparation techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality food across all menus, functions, and outlets, ensuring recipes, portion control, and presentation standards are consistently met.
  • Prepare and garnish a wide variety of dishes including sauces, soups, hot meals, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and specialty items.
  • Monitor food quality, storage, and hygiene practices, maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment in line with WH&S standards.
  • Manage food requisitions and stock levels in accordance with hotel policies and operational needs.
  • Protect and maintain kitchen equipment, complete tasks efficiently, and attend scheduled meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with chefs and service teams, providing excellent guest service and supporting the Executive Chef/Sous Chef as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hotel environment with strong food product and recipe knowledge.
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality dishes with excellent attention to detail and presentation.
  • Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, portion control, and WH&S guidelines.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Team player with good communication skills and a commitment to maintaining positive workplace relationships.
  • Professional grooming, flexibility, and the ability to follow hotel policies and operational procedures.
