Primary objective

To lead the provision of high-level advice and services for the administration of the statutory, and requirements in relation to land

surveys supporting the development of land; as well as maintain the integrity of land survey and tilting (tenure) data or records in

applications, databases, and systems.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Administer the compliance of statutory requirements of land survey data (includes plans, technical descriptions, tenure and

associated geospatial information) for the registration, assessment, and approval with respect to the relevant legislation,

policies, standards, practices, and guidelines.

  1. Provide high-level advice and services on the land survey statutory requirements associated with land development,

administration, tenure, titling, and addressing processes and practices.

  1. Ensure the integrity of land survey data and records are effectively maintained in integrated information system, databases, or

applications.

  1. Prepare and manage a range of correspondence, reports, or submissions relating to statutory land survey compliance,

investigations or requirements, reform initiatives, as well as recommendations to approve survey plans or data.

  1. Lead and organise the operations and workings of the Survey Land Records team.
  2. Develop and maintain effective collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve business objectives, undertake

consultation and engagement, and support implementation of initiatives and new policies.

7. Effectively participate in Survey Branch initiatives, relevant industry working groups, and assist with the development and

mentoring of the team's land information officers.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Sound knowledge and technical capability, as well as experience, in either land administration, surveying, or geospatial

information management.

2. Operational ability with integrated land or records management information systems or databases.

  1. Demonstrated capability to ensure compliance with land survey statutory requirements associated with land use planning, land

tenure and titling, and the development of land.

4. Well-developed knowledge and experience of legislation, policies, standards, practices, and guidelines associated with land

survey and geospatial information requirements, and its practical implementation to administer or develop land.

5. Demonstrated communication (oral and written), interpersonal and negotiation skills, to effectively consult, engage, and

influence people of diverse cultures, gender, or professional backgrounds.

6. Ability to supervise, develop, and mentor a team; as well as build a collaborative and high performing team culture.

  1. Knowledge and awareness of contemporary political, social, economic, and technical issues that impact land surveying, land

administration and geospatial information management.

Desirable

1. Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Land Administration or Management, Surveying, Geospatial Sciences, or a similar discipline.
