Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator
Exciting Permanent Part-Time Opportunity - Immediate Start
Location: Dandenong South, VIC 3175
Reporting to: CEO, Mike Ferguson
Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (Monday–Friday)
Negotiable hours between 7:00am – 4:00pm

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Assurance Coordinator to play a key role in upholding and enhancing our Food Safety Program. You'll oversee production quality, ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards, conduct audits, and manage continuous improvement initiatives across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously improve our quality management systems (HACCP, GMP, SQF accreditation).
- Ensure compliance with GMP hygiene and food safety standards.
- Conduct quality assessments to ensure all products meet specifications.
- Manage non-conformances and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to staff to ensure consistent product quality.
- Manage Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and ensure timely closeout.
- Lead and participate in internal and external audits.
- Monitor in-process controls, hygiene, allergen management, and CCP verification.
- Conduct GMP audits, calibrations, and swabbing programs.
- Review and release production documentation, test results, and supplier COAs.
- Develop and maintain product and raw material specifications.
- Liaise with suppliers for updated specs, allergen declarations, and nutritional information.
- Lead root cause analysis and risk-based testing to improve product consistency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Stay up to date with evolving food safety regulations and implement improvements accordingly.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Formal qualifications in Food Safety or Food Science.
- Minimum 3 years' QA management experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong working knowledge of FSANZ, HACCP, GMP, and SQF standards.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing quality systems across all areas of a business.
- A continuous improvement mindset and ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and Food Safety Programs (FSP).
Attention to detail and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
