The Role

We're seeking an experienced Technology Architect with a strong track record in complex ICT environments and a passion for modernisation. This role supports a major transformation program, where you'll lead the design and evolution of enterprise platforms and application landscapes across regulated public sector environments.

You'll combine strategic architectural leadership with hands-on technical execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and sustainable ICT solutions.

This is a high-impact, long-term role ideal for someone who thrives in complex, mission-critical environments and is driven by innovation and practical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment, design, and management of ICT domains and application landscapes to support modernisation goals.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the current ICT environment and future-state architecture.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and implementation expertise with a strong 'doer' mindset.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the technology environment and develop mitigation and optimisation strategies.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices and emerging technologies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Support governance frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant policies, standards, and regulations.

What You'll Need

  • Demonstrated expertise managing complex ICT domains and enterprise platforms within federal government or large regulated public sector organisations.
  • Strong understanding of government-specific technology frameworks, security standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience leading ICT modernisation and transformation initiatives, including application portfolio management and platform lifecycle oversight.
  • Ability to integrate legacy and emerging technologies in a cohesive architecture.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across policy, technical, vendor, and executive domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate technical risks, drive innovation, and deliver practical, scalable solutions.

Security Clearance Requirement
