Melbourne VIC, Australia Contour Education Full time $110,000 - $140,000 per year

Is your superpower turning chaos into clarity?

To be the operational backbone of Australia's fastest-growing education company? To build the systems, run the plays, and connect the dots as we scale from a high-growth startup to a national education brand?

At Contour, our growth is explosive. We're launching new campuses, new tech platforms, and new academic programs simultaneously. This breakneck speed is our biggest strength, but it also creates complexity. We're moving from a company run on founder-led hustle to a national organisation that needs scalable, repeatable systems to support our mission.

We're looking for a Project Manager who is a true hustler and a systems-builder.

Someone who sees a complex, multi-department initiative and instinctively starts creating a plan. A master orchestrator who can rally Tech, Marketing, Operations, and Academics around a single timeline, freeing up founders and senior leadership to focus on strategy, not firefighting. A pragmatist who knows how to build a plan that works, and a hustler who will roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to keep it on track.

This isn't a "check-the-box" PM role. This is a greenfield opportunity to build our project management function from the ground up, manage a portfolio of our most critical initiatives, and be the central nervous system that allows us to scale flawlessly.

If the idea of building the plane while it's flying (and being the one who ensures all the parts come together) lights you up, keep reading.

Who We Are

At Contour, we're reshaping education, one student at a time.

Born from the frustration of students who knew the system could be better, we set out to build what we once wished existed: tutoring that actually works. Not generic classes. Not recycled notes. Not overpriced, overcrowded rooms with an out-of-touch teacher who couldn't relate. But a complete ecosystem of tutoring, resources, and support, meticulously designed to help every student reach their full potential.

Since 2020, over 10,000+ students have trusted Contour to guide their academic journey, and we've grown to over 300+ team members. We've produced hundreds of 99+ ATARs, tutored the World-Record UCAT scorer, and placed more students into medical school than any school in Australia.

Our growth is a testament to the simple philosophy: Put the student first, always. Everything we design, from our world-class tutor-training programs to our purpose-built campuses, exists to help students master content faster, perform with confidence, and even rekindle the joy of learning.

Contour is a group of three brands united by one goal: to give every student the best chance to achieve their full potential:

  • Contour Education: Reshaping how students master their high school subjects with small-group tutoring, structured resources, and 1-on-1 support across Maths, Science, and English.
  • Contour MedPrep: Reshaping medical preparation with a proven, step-by-step pathway through the UCAT, interviews, and admissions, led by a team of 100+ medical students.
  • Contour TestPrep: Reshaping test preparation, starting with the selective entry exam, through rigorous tutoring, mock exams, and data-driven feedback to give students a decisive advantage.

This is Contour. Built by students, for students.

What You Will Do

As our first dedicated Project Manager, you will be the force multiplier for the entire organisation.

  • Build the 'Contour Way' of Project Management: Design and implement the lightweight, effective 'Contour Playbook' for project execution. You'll create the tools, templates, and rituals (including post-mortems) that fit our high-speed culture (not slow it down) and professionalise how we run cross-functional initiatives.
  • Manage a Diverse Project Portfolio: Simultaneously own and execute a wide range of mission-critical projects from initial concept to final delivery - all the way from , to a marketing event establishing Contour's presence internationally.
  • Drive Tech & Digital Projects: Shepherd our new website launch, CRM enhancements, and internal tool rollouts, acting as the key liaison between our tech teams, marketing, and operational stakeholders.
  • Execute National Expansion & Campus Projects: Project-manage new campus launches. You'll coordinate timelines for site searching, fit-out, manage contractors, and partner with the National Campus Manager to ensure 100% operational readiness on day one.
  • Lead Strategic & GTM Initiatives: Run the operational timeline for our annual program launches, ensuring all departments (Academics, Marketing, Ops, Sales) are perfectly aligned and hit every milestone.
  • Be the Central Communicator & Problem-Solver: Act as the single source of truth for all major projects. You'll proactively identify risks, manage dependencies, clear roadblocks, and report progress to the leadership team.
  • Establish Operational Visibility & Rhythm: You won't just run projects; you'll build the systems that show how projects are run. This means clear dashboards, standardised reporting, and an 'Execution Rhythm' (e.g., weekly syncs, quarterly planning - you'll lead the way) that shiftsleadership meetings from 'status updates' to 'decision meetings.'
  • Drive Change Management: As you roll out new systems or tools, you'll be the champion who guides leaders and teams through the change, ensuring seamless adoption and a smooth transition, not disruption.
What You Will Bring
  • A Proven PM (4-8+ years): You have a clear track record of delivering complex projects on time, on quality, and on scope. You live and breathe project management, from scoping and planning to execution and review.
  • A Systems Thinker: Your brain naturally turns chaos into a clear, organised process. You build Gantt charts, status reports, and checklists that people actually want to use because they make life easier.
  • Versatility: You are not a one-trick pony. You have proven experience managing both digital/tech projects (like a website or software) and physical/operational projects (like a store opening, event, or fit-out).
  • Extreme Ownership: You're a hustler. You run towards problems and take full accountability for a project's success. You're allergic to "close enough" and "that's not my job."
  • Master Communicator: You can translate complex ideas, challenge timelines, chase clarity, build consensus, and manage stakeholders across all levels, from co-founders and developers to external contractors.
  • A PM Tool-Builder: You are fluent in modern PM tools (e.g., Asana, ClickUp, Notion, Linear) and know how to implement and scale them, not just use them. You build dashboards that are a source of truth, not a source of noise.
  • Quantitative Rigour: You use data to ground your projects. You're comfortable with metrics, timelines, and dependencies, using them to measure progress and keep everyone focused on measurable outcomes.
  • Pragmatic & Agile: You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You know when to follow the playbook and when to adapt. You are biased towards action and outcomes, not just process.
  • Bonus Points: PM certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum); experience in a high-growth scale-up; exposure to franchising; experience with multi-site rollouts (retail, fitness, hospitality, education).
Why You Will Love It
  • Build From Scratch: This is a greenfield opportunity. You're not inheriting a broken system; you're building the system from the ground up.
  • Unmatched Variety: You'll manage projects that touch every single department - from tech and marketing to new campus builds. No two days will be the same.
  • Direct Impact: Your work is the scaffolding that allows us to scale. You'll be the force multiplier that translates strategy and planning into execution and real, tangible student impact.
  • Competitive Package: We offer a competitive salary ($110k - $140k + Super) and a flexible, hybrid environment where we value output, not hours. Our supportive team benefits package include an EAP, and birthday/loyalty leave.
  • Clear Path for Growth: This role is the natural foundation for our future Head of PMO. As we scale, you'll scale with us.

If the challenge of being the master orchestrator for a high-growth rocket ship - and turning ambitious ideas into flawless reality - excites you, we want to hear from you
