The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HV Project Manager to join Fredon's Infrastructure Division in Melbourne. This role will see you manage the successful delivery of high-voltage infrastructure projects across major rail, tunnel, and utilities programs — ensuring safety, quality, and commercial performance are achieved to Fredon's industry-leading standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the delivery of HV and associated electrical infrastructure works from design through to commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project resources to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation to ensure compliance with project and statutory requirements.
• Oversee procurement, scheduling, and site logistics to ensure efficient delivery and minimal disruption to critical path activities.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
• Monitor safety and quality performance, ensuring adherence to all WHS and QA requirements.
• Engage and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, providing strategic input into program sequencing and resourcing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across design, construction, and commissioning phases.

About You

To succeed in this role, you'll bring a strong technical background and proven experience managing high-voltage or complex electrical infrastructure projects.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a Project Management role within the HV electrical or infrastructure sector.
• Electrical trade or engineering qualifications (Electrical Licence or tertiary qualifications highly regarded).
• Demonstrated experience delivering HV systems – including substations, switchboards, RMUs, cabling, and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of AS3000, AS2067, and other relevant Australian Standards.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Excellent commercial acumen, contract administration, and reporting capability.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality excellence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management systems (Aconex, iTWOcx, etc.).
