The Role

We're looking for an Assistant Venue Manager who thrives on leading people, fine-tuning details, and delivering memorable guest experiences. Reporting to the General Venue Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting daily operations, mentoring the team, and ensuring each service runs smoothly and efficiently.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys balancing front-of-house energy with operational precision: from hosting and service flow to team training and guest engagement.

What You'll Be Doing

· Overseeing daily FOH operations and ensuring seamless service

· Leading the team through pre-shift briefings, training, and consistent coaching

· Building strong relationships with Sydney Flying Squadron members and regular guests

· Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and staff development

· Facilitate managers meetings and distribute minutes and oversee agendas

· Write weekly staff rosters to meet service needs, staff strengths and budget

· Conduct daily, weekly and monthly reporting as per company procedures

· Collaborating with the kitchen and management team on menus, specials, and events

· Upholding brand standards and fostering a professional yet approachable culture

· Assisting the General Venue Manager with daily operations and venue improvements

· Conducting 1:1s, performance reviews, feedback and coaching to supervisory staff

· Collaborating with Events, Sales and Marketing team to optimise revenue generating opportunities

· Maintain compliance records in regards to; RSA, hygiene, uniform and food safety standards in the front of house team and areas

What You'll Bring

· 3+ years' experience in a leadership role within a restaurant, bistro, or club

· Strong food and beverage knowledge, with interest in wine and service excellence

· Exceptional communication, delegation, and time management skills

· A collaborative leadership style focused on coaching and growth

· A passion for creating warm, consistent, and memorable guest experiences

· Ability to manage competing priorities with composure and professionalism

· Willing to grow and learn in a solutions focused

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
