**The Opportunity**

Etymon is seeking a **Catering Assistant** **and Barista** for a **casual position** to support the food service operations at **Reddam House School**and also partner with our** cafe 'Sol Bread and Wine'**. This seasonal role aligns with the academic calendar and involves approximately **40 working weeks per year**, with breaks during school holidays.

Reporting to the **Junior Catering Manager**, the Catering Assistant will help ensure the smooth delivery of catering services, focusing on food preparation, service, and maintaining high hygiene standards. The role is customer-facing and integral in upholding the excellent service standards of Etymon within the school community.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the preparation and serving of meals in the school canteen during break times
- Assist with packaging and organizing online food orders
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety across kitchen and service areas
- Follow guidelines on portion control, presentation, and food quality
- Assist with inventory rotation and stock control under supervision
- Ensure all meals meet health, dietary, and nutritional standards
- Uphold Etymon’s service values in every interaction with students and staff
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service during busy periods
- Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver smooth daily operations

**Requirements**:

- Valid **RSA** and **Working with Children Check** (or ability to obtain)
- Barista Experience
- Passion for food and customer service
- High attention to hygiene and food safety standards
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Experience in a food service or school catering environment (desirable but not essential)
