At Minds & Hearts, we are dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. Founded over 20 years ago, we are one of Australia's first private clinics established specifically for this purpose.
Over this time, we have developed and refined our knowledge and skills in three core areas that we hope you can contribute to:
(i) Neurodevelopmental assessment and clinical formulation
(ii) Therapy (individual or couple psychotherapy, speech therapy, and group therapy)
(iii) Professional training and supervising other professionals and organisations
At the heart of our work, we strive to create a world where neurodivergent people and their families feel understood, accepted, supported, and empowered to build capacity and enjoy a rich quality of life.
Our Clinic predominantly provides services via Medicare, NDIS (Plan and Self-manage) and Private billing for clients wanting help with social, communication, executive functioning with emotional or behavioural challenges in the context of diagnosed including but not limited to: Autism, Disrupted Attachment, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Communication Disorders, Learning Disorders, Motor Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities.
We know that learning about and understanding neurodiversity and neurodevelopmental conditions may be confusing, confronting, or overwhelming for the majority of clients. Working together with families, friends, and other stakeholders, we strive to create an environment where individuals are understood, accepted, and empowered for life through conversations that discover and build self-understanding all underpinned with a spirit of compassion. Each member of Minds & Hearts team is specially chosen for their passion for helping individuals impacted by neurodevelopmental conditions, their families, and their communities.
About the RoleWe have a part time (2 day per week, 5-clients per day) contract role for a Speech Pathologist. We offer competitive rates and benefits as well as flexible working arrangements. There is the opportunity to work with individuals, develop and run group programs and engage the community through screening assessments. We are a fun and supportive team with regular in-house and external multidisciplinary professional development. Enjoy a varied caseload with a focus on social skills, speech sound disorders, developmental delays, literacy, language and stuttering. Supervision with our senior Speech Pathologist, James Gardener inhouse is also available. There is also the opportunity to work with our team as part of our diagnostic assessments. Training will be provided for the diagnostic assessment of a variety of presentations, with lots of opportunity to engage in collaborative multidisciplinary assessment and treatment. This would be an exciting opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to develop their career and expertise in the assessment, treatment and support of neurodevelopmental presentations, with opportunity for career growth and guidance.
Our clinic is located in Stones Corner, Brisbane. Public transport is readily available, as are convenient all-day parking options for both. Close to cafes, parks and the Brisbane CBD, we are ideally located for staff and clients alike.
