Senior Health Clinician - New Street
Service Delivery Directorate - Child Youth & Family Division
About the role
Join the New Street Team to provide therapeutic services for children and young people aged 10 to 17 years who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours towards others and their families by assisting the young person to understand, acknowledge, take responsibility for and cease the harmful sexual behaviour.
New Street is a vital service that has reported positive outcomes for clients that have engaged in their services. Clients come to the service voluntarily, on the referral of the networks working collaboratively within the community and health services.
The role is very well supported, starting with a 3 month orientation and training before you go in to practice, ongoing clinical supervision and consultation from a senior Clinical Advisor from The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network and regular support through networking meetings.
Experience in clinical service of a complex nature and trauma based restorative practice is preferred, but not essential, we provide extensive training and development with ongoing support and supervision. We're seeking a very empathetic person, driven to engage positively with clients and stakeholders to work collaboratively with community services and improve client outcomes.
In this role you'll work in a co-therapy model, travelling in pairs to consult in outreach with flexible working hours when you're not travelling – we put family first for our own families as well.
New Street Services prioritise Aboriginal young people and are trained and committed to ensuring cultural safety. Identified Aboriginal Clinicians are in place at every New Street service as part of this commitment to lead, support and guide us in culturally safe practices committed to improving health outcomes.
The position is part of the state-wide New Street Adolescent Services Network and sits within the Integrated Care Directorate at Western NSW Local Health District and is part of the Integrated PARVAN and Women's Health teams.
