A focus on deeply embedding literacy and numeracy strategies in the design and delivery of education ensures that balance between depth and breadth of learning and to ensure that all students have confidence in their ability to learn, adapt and be responsible citizens. The school also has a systemised and structured approach to implementing the Department of Education's Explicit Teaching Model.

The school seeks to establish a culture which builds relationships based on transparency, honesty and mutual respect, where all members of the school community support each other and where we respect others' expertise, experience and points of view, and listen with an open mind.
