Senior Underground Mine Surveyor

Our client, a leading gold producer, is seeking an experienced
Senior Underground Mine Surveyor
to join their high-performing team. This is a key leadership role, providing technical expertise, oversight, and mentorship to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of underground surveying operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the underground surveying team, ensuring compliance with company values, policies, and regulatory obligations.
  • Allocate survey resources to support operational needs and collaborate with the Underground Mining Manager on budget and resourcing requirements.
  • Oversee all survey activities, maintaining accurate and compliant records in line with mine designs and statutory requirements.
  • Produce, review, and submit survey reports, emergency plans, and technical data as required.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and mentoring to surveyors, contractors, and the broader underground mining team.
  • Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Proactively identify safety risks, conduct inspections, and promote a strong safety culture within the team.
  • Ensure accurate use of survey systems, databases, and instruments to maintain the highest standards of data integrity.

About You:

  • Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyor's Certificate (essential).
  • Proven experience in underground mine surveying with strong technical knowledge of mining legislation.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience coaching and mentoring teams.
  • Proficiency in mining and survey software (Surpac, MSO, CMS, C-ALS, Trimble, Agisoft, Quickslope) and survey instruments (Leica).
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Current National Police Clearance and WA C-Class driver's licence.
  • First Aid certification.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar senior surveying role within mining operations.
  • A passion for developing people and driving continuous improvement.
