Our Mount Magnet Mining (MMG) operations span multiple open pit, underground, and satellite sites with a projected 17-year mine life. Active areas include Galaxy underground, Cue open pit, and Penny underground, with a strong pipeline of future developments underway.

The Role
As an Open Pit Mine Surveyor, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate spatial data to support safe and efficient mining operations. Reporting to the Open Pit Manager and working closely with the Senior Mine Surveyor and technical teams, you'll be part of a high-performing crew where your skills and ideas are valued.

You Will

  • Gather accurate data to assist in generating whole of mine operation plans
  • Complete survey of stockpile volume calculations, EOM pickups, ore block layout, control for mining as built, waste dump construction control, cavity monitoring and producing plans and maps.
  • Conduct timely pickups and reporting of all excavations
  • Install and maintain survey controls across pits, ramps, crests, and toes
  • Accurately input data into relevant systems and databases
  • Produce required plans and memos (e.g. digging notes, drill and development plans, traffic/emergency maps)
  • Review and submit survey reports to Senior Surveyor and Engineering team
  • Ensure survey accuracy and compliance through ongoing control maintenance

About You
You're a detail-driven, proactive surveyor with a safety-first mindset and a desire to grow within a supportive team. You're hands-on, adaptable, and ready to take the next step in your mining career.

You Bring

  • A Diploma or Tertiary Degree in Surveying or Geospatial Science
  • 1–2 years' experience in open pit mining (preferred)
  • Competency with Leica/Trimble, Surpac, and UAV tools (Agisoft)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word)
  • Understanding of Australian mining standards and safety regulations
  • High attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • A positive, team-oriented approach and eagerness to learn
  • A current WA C Class (manual) driver's licence and National Police Clearance eligibility
