This opportunity is a rare one. A dynamic retailer, strong leaders, great team and history of success is unique - their turnover in the Planning team is low.

As a result, we are looking for a Senior Planner who is flexible and hands on with General Merchandise experience. You will be happy to challenge the status quo, and handle the push back that inevitability comes with change. Strategic Planning will be something you have had experience with, coupled with the background to deal with different & strong personalities and opinions.

You will have a desire to mentor and develop those who you work with, and the ability to make decisions as a true merchant in an ever changing environment. You will lead by example, support your team and be able to execute & implement the strategy needed.

To be successful in this Senior role you will need to possess the following ;

  • Skill, knowledge and expertise in managing the merchandise plans and processes from beginning to end. A diverse planning background, from retail, coupled with an understanding of supply chain and logistics would also be beneficial.
  • Strategic thinking and proven ability to deliver & implement these objectives to achieve budgeted KPI"s.
  • The ability to communicate both with strong leaders cross functionally, coupled with patience to coach and develop your own team of Planners and their direct reports.
  • Provide direction to the Buying Team on the strategic goals & objectives of the business in relation to budgets, KPI's, stockturns, GMROI, OTB's.
  • The desire to work strategically on the future direction of the business.
  • The personality & character to work within a fast paced & changing environment and lead your team through this.
  • The ability to challenge and improve systems and processes in a dynamic retail environment is essential.
  • The ability to lead a team to ensure business goals are achieved, whilst also developing the personal goals & growth of your direct reports.
