Program Support Officer – Project Management Improvement (PFMI Program)
A large Queensland Government department is seeking a Program Support Officer to join the Project Management Improvement (PMI) Project, part of a major transformation program uplifting portfolio and financial management maturity. This role will provide hands-on coordination and support across planning, reporting, governance, and assurance activities to enable successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project planning and reporting, maintaining schedules, trackers, and dashboards.
  • Manage registers for risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions, escalating as required.
  • Provide governance and assurance support, preparing papers and tracking actions.
  • Maintain project documentation, templates, and repositories with version control.
  • Assist project managers and team members to apply consistent project management standards and PMO processes.
  • Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
  • Collate evidence for audits, reviews, and health checks.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships within the team and with stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience providing project or program support in a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports and governance documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and governance forums desirable.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
