Role Summary
As a key member of the iEDM's Overlay Team, the Project Manager – Signage plans, coordinates, and delivers signage, venue dressing, and wayfinding from design through to dismantle, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and systems. You will manage clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver infrastructure safely, on time, and within budget.
This role utilises organisational information systems to monitor schedules, resources, and expenditure, supporting informed decisions and accountability. The Project Manager - Signage requires strong client, supplier, and schedule management skills, along with leadership and the ability to problem-solve in fast-paced environments. Working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams, you will ensure infrastructure is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
The Project Manager – Signage will take direct responsibility for the planning and implementation of signage and dressing at the Australian Grand Prix plus other similar large-scale events iEDM are engaged to deliver, ensuring that all deliverables and deadlines are achieved. They will manage contracted suppliers to deliver efficiently and effectively, while also monitoring budgetary spend within agreed limits.
Collaboration with the client and the broader iEDM Overlay team will be central to the role, ensuring creativity is maximised, processes are consistent, and outcomes align with organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Signage and Brand Delivery
- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of event signage and wayfinding in line with each event's brand identity.
- Translate complex venue layouts and crowd flows into practical production and installation plans.
Contract and Supplier Management
- Manage event infrastructure supplier contracts from mobilisation to reconciliation.
- Coordinate with Site Area Managers, Construction, Safety, and Engineering teams to deliver as per client-approved designs.
- Ensure contractors meet compliance requirements, including SWMS, insurance, and quality standards.
Programme and Scheduling
- Administer and maintain the project schedule using scheduling software.
- Establish programme baselines, track progress, and report on delays or risks to the Overlay and Construction Manager.
- Supervise bump-in and bump-out, ensuring signage is installed, adapted and dismantled effectively.
- Liaise with internal teams to collect programme data and maintain accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
Site Leadership
- Lead on-site works, resolving issues quickly to maintain project momentum.
- Promote a strong site safety culture in collaboration with the safety team.
- Ensure infrastructure is delivered, installed, and presented to the highest standard.
Infrastructure Tracking and Change Management
- Maintain accurate infrastructure records in iEDM's Facility Management Software (FMS).
- Oversee variation processes and secure necessary client approvals.
Commercial and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to accurate forecasting and commercial tracking for event infrastructure.
- Support post-event reviews, lessons learned, and improvements to recurrent builds.
- Lead investigations for new event infrastructure, from concept through cost analysis to delivery.
- Support continuous improvement and innovation in venue dressing and signage solutions.
Technical Compliance
- Apply knowledge of the iEDM Compliance documents, the Temporary Structures Manual, Relevant state and National Standards, and IEDM's design processes to ensure compliance, certification, and readiness for use.
What You Bring
- Bachelor degree in a relevant field is desirable.
- Hands-on experience managing signage and wayfinding at the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and procedures.
- Proven success delivering signage and wayfinding for international multi-venue, multi-discipline events, including the Olympic Games, with a focus on operational efficiency and organisational accountability.
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, CAD plans, and application plans, translating them into practical production and installation workflows for Major Events. Maintaining accurate documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, supervise, and report on bump-in and bump-out phases across multiple Major Events, using information systems and processes to track schedules, resources, and deliverables.
- Experienced in preparing post-event reports and lessons learned to inform continuous improvement and support organisational objectives.
- Commercially astute, effectively managing multimillion-dollar budgets, suppliers, and project documentation while ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners under tight timelines, ensuring consistency, compliance, and seamless delivery.
- Successfully managed a multimillion-dollar budget for venue branding at Major Events, balancing cost with world-class presentation.
- Expertise in Defining and executing brand identity strategies for the Major International Events, including venue dressing guidelines and integration of partner branding.
