Be a clinical expert within Emergency Nursing working in one of the busiest mixed Emergency Departments within the Southern Hemisphere within both Adults and Children's Emergency.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Emergency Department) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Show current experience in Emergency settings and leadership role exposure
  • Be expected to work within both Adults and Children's Emergency
  • Manage conflict and incidents appropriately and at a professional level
  • Mentor junior staff and colleagues

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent Full Time and Permanent Part Time
  • Base salary ranging from $ $ per annum, $ $58.30 per hour

About Us

The Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) Emergency Department (ED) is one of the busiest mixed EDs in the Southern Hemisphere, seeing around 120,000 patients annually. As a level 6 trauma facility, it serves a large catchment area spanning Northern New South Wales and the Gold Coast region.

The department provides a 24-hour triage service for all levels of presentations, from high-end trauma to minor injuries, working within a large multidisciplinary team with collaborative relationships across trauma, stroke, surgery, and other subspecialties. The GCUH ED also includes a separate Children's ED and a 20-bed short stay unit for adults and children.
