Possess advanced level neonatal clinical expertise and problem-solving skills to support the nursing and medical team to provide essential care for sick or premature infants in the first moments of life, and when there is acute deterioration.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Possess advanced level neonatal clinical expertise and problem-solving skills
- Provide evidence-based care to enhance service delivery and achieve quality outcomes for infants
- Respond to Code Blue calls and staff assist calls when an infant's condition deteriorates
- Care for the sickest most vulnerable infants and support less experienced nurses
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $ $ per annum, $ $58.30 per hour
About Us
The Newborn Care Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital is part of Women, Newborn and Children's Services and is comprised of a 12 cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a 24 cot Special Care Nursery (SCN).
There is a requirement that all Newborn Services nurses are available to work, within their scope of practice, across all areas of the Neonatal Service, including rotation to Special Care Nursery and the Neonatal Early Discharge Service a community home visiting service.
