Clinical Nurse Consultant

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is a senior level clinician demonstrates a broad knowledge of professional nursing skills and are accountable and responsible for their own clinical practice. They can function in more complex nursing situations, while providing support and direction to the inter-disciplinary team.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Provide efficient and responsive mental health assessment and management at a high level, within the Acute Care Team
• Lead quality activities and/or research to improve clinical practice and multidisciplinary services.
• Manage a portfolio in a specialist area of interest and complete specific responsibilities relevant to the portfolio consistent with skill level and level of practice
• Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, occupational health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
• A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
• Driver Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (up to 3 months with possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $ $ per fortnight
