Canberra n Capital Territory, Australia Westpac Institutional Bank Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Job Description

  • Permanent opportunity to join Westpac's GTS Team
  • Full-Time role available, Canberra based 3+ days in office and hybrid working
  • Manage and maintain a senior portfolio of key Institutional and Corporate clients

Create your best future and join Westpac as a
Director, Client Development Manager.
What's the role?
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Canberra, with a hybrid working model—three or more days in the office and the rest from home. You'll be part of Westpac's Global Transaction Services (GTS) team, primarily managing a senior portfolio of Public Sector clients.

Your focus will be on maintaining strong relationships, identifying new to bank opportunities for growth, and delivering tailored solutions that support your clients' operational and financial goals. It's a role that combines the need for a self-starter who's driven to extend themselves, strategic thinking, client engagement, and a deep understanding of transactional banking expertise.

What do I need?

  • You've built and nurtured senior client relationships before, and you know how to earn trust, influence decisions, and keep partnerships thriving.
  • You can read between the lines of a client's strategy, spot opportunities others miss, and craft long-term plans that align with their goals and ours.
  • You're skilled at creating compelling pitches, mapping out solutions, and delivering presentations that resonate with senior stakeholders.
  • You stay sharp on economic trends, government priorities, and the evolving transactional banking landscape—and you use that knowledge to drive smarter conversations.
  • Transactional banking experience, ideally in sales is highly advantageous.

Why join us?
We're obsessed with becoming our customers #1 banking partner for life and we're looking for people who are passionate about helping us achieve that goal. In return we're committed to making Westpac the best place to work in the country. Here are just a few of the ways we're already doing that:

  • Special offers on banking products and discounts from top brands, including generous employee-only mortgage rates
  • Flexible work arrangements to help you achieve a greater work/life balance, and a variety of leave options including Culture, Lifestyle and Wellbeing leave.
  • Tailored learning and development opportunities to help your grow your career within the bank.
  • Lots of opportunities to 'give back' to the Community by getting involved in our many volunteering initiatives
  • With a team of 4 colleagues who specialise in supporting our Public Sector clients in Canberra, you'll collaborate in person in our Northbourne Avenue office in the ACT to re-group and connect with dedicated sales managers, clients and sales representatives.
