The HCL Software Client Director will be responsible for overall software growth for our Federal Government customers in Australia. As an integral member of our account management team, you will work collaboratively to meet and exceed client expectations. You will drive growth from our existing software base as well as identify and close new opportunities within the Federal sector.
We are expanding our Client Director team to build long-term, trusted relationships with our customers in the Federal Government. The Client Director's role is to oversee a portfolio of assigned Federal accounts, expand and develop new business opportunities, and actively prospect for new logos. As the primary point of contact, you will nurture strong relationships, address client queries, and identify innovative ways to grow revenue. You will also liaise with cross-functional internal teams (Customer Success, Sales, Product, and Delivery) to improve the customer experience.
By engaging with senior stakeholders, you will establish strong rapport and effectively position HCL Software's offerings. You should be confident in C-suite conversations and able to bring the right HCL solutions to address government challenges. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute account strategies for Federal Government clients in Australia.
- Own a portfolio of Federal accounts, ensuring attainment of revenue and associated targets.
- Drive growth through upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts, while winning new logos in the Federal market.
- Identify and qualify product and solution leads, ensuring alignment with Federal Government priorities.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with senior stakeholders across government departments and agencies.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Federal clients, demonstrating an understanding of government procurement processes and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver value-based outcomes and enhance customer success.
- Effectively communicate and present to key decision-makers, including C-level executives.
- Stay current with industry and public sector trends to position HCL Software competitively.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- 7–12 years of proven experience managing Federal or Public Sector accounts with strong success in enterprise software sales.
- Demonstrated ability to drive business in the Federal Government segment, with knowledge of Australian Federal procurement frameworks.
- Strong consultative sales approach and ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue and growth targets.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on results, integrity, and client satisfaction.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple opportunities with sharp attention to detail.
- Canberra-based or willingness to be based in Canberra to effectively cover Federal accounts.
