About the Role

As an EL1 Assistant Director, you will lead small teams to deliver economic research and analysis, engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations, and make major impacts on the allocation of Scheme resources. This role is a team leadership role in the Economics and Insights Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead small teams in delivering economic research and analysis
  • Apply statistical and economic modelling and research methods
  • Address information asymmetries and market failures
  • Work effectively across teams and departments
  • Engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations
  • Make major impacts on the allocation of Scheme resources

Skills & Experience:

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Quantitative mindset with technical skills in data analysis
  • Ability to simplify technical information into plain English
  • Competence in building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Interest in the economic challenges of the care economy

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in economics and econometrics, or similar
  • Experience working on the economic challenges of the care economy
  • Proficiency with a major statistical software package (R, Python, Stata, SAS)
