About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and safety-conscious Apprentice Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance team at V&V Walsh in Bunbury. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a large-scale food manufacturing environment while completing a nationally recognised electrical apprenticeship. You'll gain hands-on experience across production lines, refrigeration systems, conveyors, and packaging equipment while completing a nationally recognised apprenticeship and learning how to keep critical manufacturing equipment running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist qualified electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems used in meat processing and packaging operations
• Learn to troubleshoot and repair equipment such as conveyors, motors, sensors, pumps, and refrigeration systems
• Support preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and maintain production efficiency
• Assist with wiring and testing of control panels and automated systems
• Follow lock-out/tag-out and permit-to-work safety procedures at all times
• Help maintain compliance with electrical, food safety, and WHS standards
• Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and refrigeration teams in a fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For

• Genuine interest in developing a career as a qualified industrial electrician
• Keen to work in a meat processing and cold storage environment
• Willingness to learn about automated machinery, sensors, motors, and control systems
• Commitment to safety, hygiene, and teamwork in a food production setting
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
• Completed Year 10 (or equivalent) with solid results in maths and science
• Current driver's licence or reliable transport
• Must be living in Australia with full working rights
