Adelaide, South Australia KM Rehabilitation Full time $80,000 - $160,000 per year

Help people rebuild their lives after illness, injury, or trauma – and make a real difference in their recovery journey

KM Rehabilitation is an established national vocational rehabilitation provider with head office in Adelaide. We deliver services to the life insurance sector across Australia, and in South Australia we also provide specialised services for government agencies.

We welcome applications from experienced allied health professionals – Rehabilitation Counsellors, Psychologists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Career Counsellors – or those with equivalent vocational rehabilitation qualifications and experience. Professional registration with a recognised body (ASORC, AHPRA, AASW, ESSA, CDAA, or equivalent) is essential. We are especially interested in contractors based in SA, NSW, VIC or QLD, where local presence adds value for client visits, medical case conferences, and insurer collaboration.

About the Role

As a contractor with KM Rehab, you'll focus on deliveringquality outcomes with an individualised approach beyond a checklist – we don't set billable targets.

Your work will be vocationally oriented, including:

  • Supporting clients with mental health challenges, physical and chronic health conditions, cancer recovery, brain injury, and neurodiversity with wellness support to prepare for return to work.
  • Vocational counselling to support career direction and return-to-work planning.
  • Vocational assessments to identify suitable employment options aligned with medical, functional, and labour market factors.
  • Collaborating with treating providers, insurers, and employers to align recovery and return-to-work goals.
  • Medico-legal assessments and reporting, including:

  • Employability assessments to determine work readiness and capacity for job seeking.

  • Transferable skills assessments to map prior experience and skills to new employment opportunities.
  • Job-seeking support – coaching clients in resume and cover letter writing, and interview preparation, with a focus on building independence and self-management skills.
  • Developing strategies to build work readiness and overcome barriers.
  • Attending client visits, employer meetings, and case conferences.
  • Supporting clients in establishing both short- and long-term goals beyond claim entitlements.

You'll work flexibly from home with autonomy over your schedule. Office facilities can be arranged in major cities as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in vocational rehabilitation (life insurance, workers' compensation, or related sectors).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Rehabilitation Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, or related discipline.
  • Essential: Professional registration (ASORC, AHPRA, AASW, ESSA, CDAA, or equivalent).
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the labour market and job-seeking support strategies.
  • Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and national police clearance.

Why Join KM Rehab?

  • Meaningful impact – help clients achieve recovery, wellness, and sustainable return to work.
  • No billable targets – work is measured by quality and outcomes.
  • Competitive contractor rates – up to $120/hour.
  • Flexibility – set your own hours; work from home with travel for client needs.
  • CPD bonus – annual allowance linked to minimum hours, to support your professional growth.
  • Supportive boutique provider – independent, client-first, and nationally established.

Apply Now

If you're an experienced allied health professional looking for contract flexibility, national reach, and the opportunity to deliver high-quality client-focused rehabilitation services without the pressure of billable targets, we'd love to hear from you.
